Is this where Brexit starts to go badly off the rails?
David Davis has as good as conceded (in politician speak) that Britain will get no trade deal with the EU in the 2 years for negotiations. Now Philip Hammond has set up the ultimate in crowdfunding with a 60bn war chest of taxpayers’ money to shore up a catastrophic Brexit. And Theresa May is adamant that there will be no real parliamentary say in the ‘deal’ that is negotiated. She wants her Brexit locked down and irreversible, however bad it turns out.
Not looking too good for Brexit and A50 hasn’t even been triggered yet.
Theresa May thinks it’s wrong to wrench countries out of their biggest market
Mmm, wonder who might be doing that, Mrs May
Whether you are for or against nuclear power, Brexit could close down nuclear power stations.
I don’t recall much discussion of this by the leave campaign.
The Lords capitulated on freedom of movement and the single market.
The amendment possibly wouldn’t have made it back through the Commons. To lie over and die and give TM what she wants. I had hoped the Lords would have had a bit more resolve.
